Brought in my father's old Seiko 5 that hadn't run in about twelve years. They looked at it, sent me photographs of the movement before and after cleaning, and explained what parts had worn. I wasn't expecting that level of detail. The watch is now keeping decent time and I know exactly what was done to it.

I brought in a quartz watch I wear every day — it had stopped and the crown felt a bit stiff. They changed the battery, checked the seal, and were honest with me that the gasket was borderline but not urgent yet. No unnecessary upselling, just a clear explanation. Ready in three days.

The bracelet on my stainless sports watch had two loose links and a clasp that wouldn't stay shut. They refitted the links, replaced two worn pins, and discussed the case refinishing options with me before touching anything. I asked them to keep the scratches on the case — they respected that without question.

My grandmother's Swiss dress watch came back with timing machine readings showing plus three seconds a day. That number meant nothing to me before, but they explained it clearly: good accuracy for a watch of its age and style. I appreciated having something concrete to compare against in the future.

I enquired about two watches. They told me the automatic was fine for at least another few years and didn't need anything yet. Only the quartz was worth doing. That kind of honesty — telling me not to spend money — is what keeps me coming back when service is actually needed.

The workshop is easy to find on Thonglor Soi 13, the staff are unhurried and genuinely interested in discussing your watch. I dropped in with an old 1970s Omega that I'd been nervous about sending anywhere. They were careful with it and kept me informed throughout the three-week rebuild. Couldn't ask for more.

Case Study #001 Heritage Rebuild · April 2025

The Situation

A client brought in a 1968 Swiss manual-wind dress watch inherited from an uncle. The watch hadn't run in at least fifteen years, and the last service history was unknown. The owner was unsure whether a rebuild was worth attempting at all.

The Work

We disassembled the movement, photographed each stage, and found two worn jewels and a mainspring showing fatigue. Parts were sourced with the owner's approval. After ultrasonic cleaning, reassembly, and lubrication, timing was adjusted over several days on the machine.

The Outcome

The watch is now running at around plus five seconds per day across positions — reasonable for a 57-year-old calibre. The owner received the timing machine printout and a written record. They said seeing the before and after photos changed how they felt about the piece.

Case Study #002 Case Refurb · May 2025

The Situation

A client had a Japanese sports watch with extensive bracelet wear — three loose links, a worn pin causing slight rattle, and a folded-blade clasp that no longer held securely. The case had deep scratches from construction site use, and the owner was undecided about whether to refinish it.

The Work

We replaced the worn pin and refitted all three loose links. The clasp mechanism was adjusted. After a careful conversation, the owner chose a very light case polish — enough to reduce the most distracting marks without erasing the watch's working history. Crystal was buffed and reseated.

The Outcome

The bracelet is now solid on the wrist with no rattle, and the clasp holds firmly. The case looks renewed rather than restored — the owner's words. Completed in ten days. They've already asked to bring in a second watch for assessment.

Case Study #003 Quartz Servicing · May 2025

The Situation

A client brought in a mid-range quartz watch used for swimming and outdoor activities. The battery had died, but more importantly, she'd noticed condensation inside the crystal after a pool session — suggesting the water resistance seal had been compromised.

The Work

We replaced the gasket at the case back and crown, installed a new battery, and pressure-tested to confirm the seal. The crystal was clean inside. We also found a minor surface corrosion on the case back from moisture exposure, which was addressed during the clean.

The Outcome

Watch passed the water resistance test to its rated depth. Client was advised that the gaskets should be checked every two years if the watch continues to be used in water. She was pleased to have an honest maintenance schedule rather than just a receipt.
