Watchmaker tools on a workbench
— Why This Workshop

What careful watchwork actually looks like.

The difference between a rushed service and a thoughtful one isn't always visible at first. Here's what we do differently and why it matters for the watch in your hands.

Six things that shape how we work

Written records for every job

Each completed service is documented. You leave with a written summary of what was done.

No surprise costs

If something unexpected comes up, we stop and ask before proceeding. Nothing is added to your bill without discussion.

Dedicated workshop tools

Timing machines, ultrasonic cleaners, and pressure testing equipment — used because the work requires them.

Process photos on request

For heritage rebuilds, we photograph key stages and share them with you so the work stays visible from start to finish.

No obligation assessment

Bring the watch in, we'll look at it and let you know what we find — before you commit to any service or spend.

Bangkok-based, reachable

The workshop is on Thonglor Soi 13. You can visit in person, ask questions, and see where the work is done.

In More Detail

What each benefit actually means

Expertise

Trained hands, not guesswork

The watchmakers at Nakorn Timeworks have formal training in mechanical horology and working experience across a wide range of Swiss and Japanese movements. For heritage pieces especially, this matters: older calibres have quirks and tolerances that reward familiarity. When we're not familiar with a particular movement, we say so and advise accordingly rather than attempting work we haven't done before.

Equipment

The right tools for the job

A timing machine tells us how a mechanical movement is actually performing — amplitude, beat error, rate across positions. An ultrasonic bath cleans movement components more thoroughly than any manual method. Pressure testing equipment verifies water resistance properly rather than on assumption. These aren't luxuries; they're what separates a workshop from a counter that changes batteries.

Communication

You're kept in the picture

We reach out when we find something unexpected. We share photographs during complex work so you're not waiting blindly. We explain what we recommend and why, and we're equally clear when we don't recommend anything at all. The goal is that you finish a service understanding your watch better than when you brought it in.

Pricing

Transparent from the start

Service prices are listed clearly on the Solutions page and are starting figures for each category. If a job requires additional parts, we itemise those separately and ask before ordering. We don't bundle in services you didn't ask for, and we don't inflate estimates. A straightforward quartz service has a straightforward price.

Outcomes

Work you can measure

After a movement rebuild, you'll have timing machine readings showing rate and amplitude. After case work, we discuss what was done to each surface. You receive a written service record. This matters because it gives you a baseline for the future — the next time a watchmaker asks about the service history, you'll have something concrete to show them.

What Makes Us Different

Things you won't find everywhere

Documented service history

We provide a written record of what was done, which parts were replaced, and any observations from the assessment. Over time, this builds a proper service history for the watch.

Honest advice, including when to wait

If a watch doesn't need work yet, we'll say so. If a repair would cost more than the watch is worth, we'll explain that clearly. You make the decision with full information.

Photography during complex work

For heritage movement rebuilds, we photograph the movement at significant stages. These photos are shared with you — not for decoration, but because transparency has real value.

Explanations, not just receipts

When you collect the watch, we explain what was found, what was done, and what to expect from the piece going forward. Questions are welcome — they help both sides.
